HEFFLIN TAKES 10th Place at CIF Prelims, Varsity Girls Take 8th Place.    Nov. 15, 2009 CIF Prelms @MT SACRaquel Hefflin took 10th place in the CIF Prelims setting a new school record of 18:48 over the tough MT SAC course, running with some of the top girls in CIF.  She missed making the CIF finals by four places and 8 seconds, but ran among the power runners of the CIF.  She is the first girl at Beverly to break the 19 minute barrier for the course.  How fast was her time?  She would have been our fourth fastest on the Varsity boys team.  The Varsity girls were in a heavily seeded heat that had 6 ranked CIF teams, so the 8th place finish was very respectable.   Sydney Gray, Gitla Shooster, Brianna Simmons and Erica Hendry all ran personal bests and all made or moved up the Beverly all time list on the course.  Daniella Vinoles and Lily Ting also had PR’s and just missed by seconds making the all time lists.  The boys Varsity took 13th as a team in their CIF Prelim heat.  Ali Hatcher at 17:16 and Josh Galen at 17:29 were our top finishers.
